Preparing Christians to Serve their Schools

WHAT?

We advise, prepare & train nominees in both nationally recognised and locally developed good quality, tried and tested resources. These include Bible Explorer, Scripture Union’s ‘Its Your Move’, Counties ‘Life Expo’ and our own product, ‘Bible in Literacy’. Training can vary from a one-off seminar to multiple one-day modular sessions over a 10 week period.

WHY?

This whole project has been born out of a passion to see Christians from local churches envisioned, equipped and enabled to engage with and serve our schools in ways that are practical, pastoral and educationally robust.

WHERE?

Home or away - Training can be arranged at a venue of mutual convenience.

WHEN?

Times and dates by agreement. We aim to be as flexible as possible.

WHO?

‘Serving our Schools’ is presented by Shirley Gowland. Shirley is committed to sharing the wealth of experience they have discovered through 20 years of service in both Children’s & Youth Ministry, including Schools Work, Pastoral support, Team leading and Training. Shirley is a Pastoral Worker & R.E instructor in the Billericay, Essex area. Shirley is currently available 2 days a week for the ‘Serving our Schools’ Project.

YOUR SCHOOLS NEED YOU!

School budgets are always a little challenging! Churches can offer to provide a Bible in Literacy Pack for their own local school. Serving our Schools in this way is a very exciting stage of the project:

‘A gift to your school from our church’

The Bible in Literacy product has the potential of reaching millions of children, within the educational framework, with a fun and interactive way of engaging with God’s word using cross curricular material. As church, Bible in Literacy resource will not only equip us for Serving our Schools but will also enhance our childrens’ learning process within the church context.
